Cocteau Twins Announce Garlands and Victorialand Vinyl Reissues

Scottish Alternative Rock Band Re-releases Debut Album and Fourth LP

By Noah Yoo

Cocteau Twins have announced that they are reissuing their debut album Garlands (1982) and fourth LP Victorialand (1986) on vinyl.

Garlands, the Scottish alternative rock band's debut album, was originally released on July 10, 1982, by the record label 4AD. The album is known for its ethereal and atmospheric sound, which is characterized by Elizabeth Fraser's distinctive vocals and Robin Guthrie's guitar work.

Victorialand, the band's fourth LP, was released on October 20, 1986. The album is a more experimental and psychedelic work than Garlands, and it features a wider range of instrumentation, including keyboards, synthesizers, and drum machines.

Both Garlands and Victorialand have been remastered for the vinyl reissues, and they will be released on October 9, 2020. The albums will be available in both standard black vinyl and limited-edition colored vinyl.
