Since 2019 Tesla CEO Elon Musk has periodically tweeted about Dojo a neural network exaflop supercomputer but has shared few details up to this point During its AI Day event this week the electric car and energy company revealed its in-house D1 chip that will power the system and a training tile module.
The architectural uniqueness of Dojo is evident in its building block the D1 chip manufactured by TSMC using 7 nm semiconductor nodes with a large die size of 645 mm² and 50 billion..
The engineer started by unveiling Dojos D1 chip which is using 7 nanometer technology and delivers breakthrough bandwidth and compute performance This is the second chip designed by the company in-house following its successful development of the FSD chip or Full Self-Driving chip for its autonomous vehicle ambitions.
